~Feeding the dolphins was an excellent experience.
The beauty of the site and the interaction with the dolphins. Also enjoyed the lack of crowds and the peacefulness of the resort.
Beachfront Villas are the perfect location for a peaceful get-away. We really did see wild dolphins jump right out of the water, viewed from the bed.
Beachside location was great. The dolphins while not always in full attendance never failed to turn up, their intelligence and will to interact with humans is just unbelievable. The water in Shark's Bay is magnificently clear but a tad too cold for swimming in winter even though the sun was shinning brightly. Overall enjoyed my stay.
Need to have taps to rinse feet at each block so that the sand does not get brought into the rooms. Wish the villas had separate rooms intead of all five people sleeping in the same room. Nothing to do after the sun went down after 5.30pm
I loved feeding the dolphins. It is a great extra to the hotel.
I didnt like that there wasnt a fridge in our room. I understand it was a shared ensuite room but I didn't really trust the fridges in the kitchen.
A beautiful spot! The accommodation (beachfront villa) is very nice, and the staff are very friendly.
The dolphins came every day to this place when I was there for six days. I booked a room with view onto the sea, so I got a superb view.
The rooms are located close to the bar which plays music, etc. Fortunately, the bar closes at 10 pm. However, sitting on the balcony would have been better without the noisy music from the bar. I didn't get a cleanned floor even when I stayed five nights there. Normaly, I don't care about but staying on the beach makes it quite differently because of the sand at the feet/shoes.
our freinds wedding there great food and staff, dolphins great place for weddings
we had cockroaches in our room just need to get rid of them and great place
The relaxed atmosphere. Clean beach, dolphins, quiet and friendly people
The Beachfront Villa was so relaxing being able to sit on the front porch having breakfast as the dolphins swam by.The food from the Monkey Bar was excellent for take away food - reasonably priced and well cooked.
Very well located for the Dolphin feeding. Good beach area. Nice room and good restaurant -- though short of a decent bar.
The location and the interaction on the beach with the dolphins
The Room whilst classed as a resort was very basic, the cost was akin to 4 star however the Room accommodation was less than 3.Star. The carpet was stained, the bathrooms dated eg small rust stains in toilet.
Beautiful location, right on the beach. It was nice and quiet when we went in Jan. We stayed in a beachfront unit, had a great view, and were within a few steps of the beach. The sea is very shallow for quite a way out. Dolphins, turtles and rays can be seen in the shallow waters. Good choice of accommodation, as well as camping. Our unit was nice and clean.
The restaurant and cafe close at 8pm (you can get pizzas in the bar til 10), which is annoying if you go out somewhere to watch the sunset, for example, because you miss out on proper food. It's a long drive, but worth it.
The location. However the 'Garden view" room's only view was of the room in front blocking the ocean view. The garden was behind us.
The facilities were limited considering the remoteness of the location. The first night the restaurant was fully booked and the bar was not suitable for very young children. We had to travel to the next town to eat as did many others.
The staff were always friendly and helpful, Patricia particularly (thank you). If it was as modern and up to date as some people like, I don't think it would fit in with Monkey Mia itself. Thus there was absolutely nothing I would want to change. It was the perfect adventure for a young family.
The negative comments I read previously to going are somewhat biased and unfounded based on our experience, though they concerned us enough to ring Reception. Based on our experience we had no reason to worry.
